AED 3,000 and vehicle confiscation fine for carrying passengers in private transport in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Police have warned of the danger of illegal passenger transport and its negative consequences for their safety and security and urged drivers of private vehicles not to carry out passenger transport without permission from the authorities competent.

He urged the public to use licensed and registered vehicles that meet international safety requirements and standards, and cooperate in the fight against illegal transport to ensure everyone’s safety. She stressed the importance of working with partners to combat illegal passenger trafficking and to increase safety and public awareness by eliminating the use of these illegally operated vehicles, highlighting continued joint campaigns with the Center for Abu Dhabi Integrated Transportation as a strategic partner to detain authors.

Colonel Mubarak Awad bin Mahirom, director of the Transport Security Department, said Abu Dhabi police have stepped up inspection campaigns to crack down on such violations. He specified that the use of a vehicle for the transport of passengers without a permit is punishable by a fine of 3,000 dirhams, an arrest of the vehicle for 30 days and 24 penalty points.
