Citrus transit services move to normal operations | Local news

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Citrus County Transit (CCT) has suspended the orange line (fixed route diverted) and currently operates a demand response (door-to-door) service only.

Door-to-door service is available for the following travel conditions: doctor’s appointment, employment, groceries and supplies, and prescription pickup.

As CCT begins to resume normal operations, the capacity of these buses has been increased. Pre-COVID bus schedules and schedules have been reinstated for door-to-door service in each area.

CCT has seen a significant increase in the volume of passengers requiring travel and will schedule as many trips as possible. Cross-border journeys require transfer to another bus at the Lecanto transit transfer facility. Passengers will be provided with all the necessary information when their trip is scheduled.

All fares are currently waived for door-to-door journeys. Tariffs will continue to be suspended until October 1, 2021, when all tariffs will be restored to pre-COVID tariffs.

The orange line is expected to be operational again in August (barring further delay) along the same pre-COVID transport routes. Transit will publish additional information on these services as it becomes available.

Face masks are still required by the Federal Transport Administration (FTA) for all public buses and transfer facilities.
