DART suspends all train and bus service due to ‘untenable ice conditions’ – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

DART says they are temporarily suspending all rail and bus services in North Texas “due to untenable ice conditions” in the area.

All bus and train services will be interrupted from Friday noon until Sunday 6 February noon.

All Adapted Transport DART subscription trips have been canceled with the exception of trips for medical purposes, such as those for dialysis treatments. Paratransit services will resume on Monday, February 7.

DART advises passengers requiring emergency service to contact the DART Customer Information Center at 214-979-1111.

With the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing a hard freeze warning through 9 a.m. Saturday morning, icy and slippery road conditions in North Texas aren’t expected to improve significantly until late this weekend.

“While road conditions in the region continue to remain extremely hazardous, DART recommends that everyone avoid travel where possible,” DART said in a statement Friday.

The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) will operate on the Saturday timetable on Friday 4th February and on the normal Saturday timetable on Saturday 5th February. Services will resume normal operations on Monday, February 7.

“DART will continue to monitor weather conditions in the North Texas region for the safety of our passengers and employees and to determine weather-dependent restoration of service,” DART said.

Passengers can stay informed of service change updates by signing up for DART Alerts at www.dart.org.
