FlixBus will operate an express line between Ottawa and Toronto from Thursday to Monday, with one trip in each direction per day.

The trip will depart from the ByWard Market and head towards Toronto Harbourfront.

The adult fare is $32.99, though the company is still offering a promotional fare of $4.99 for Saturdays.

The company is also launching an express Niagara Falls-Toronto line that includes a stop in St. Catharines, as well as a more comprehensive local line with stops in Waterloo (University of Waterloo), Kitchener (downtown), Guelph, Mississauga and Toronto.

FlizBus says the service is the first phase of a planned expansion into the United States this summer.

The company began operations in the United States in 2018 and had long-term plans to expand into Canada, but these were delayed due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company operates the service in conjunction with local partners, Gallexy Tours, a charter tour operator. Buses are equipped with free Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat.
