MCAG Seeks Community Feedback on Transit Services | Community

The Merced County Association of Governments and the Social Services Transportation Advisory Council are seeking community input on the future of public transportation in Merced County.

The Council seeks to identify transit needs that are not currently met by The Bus. Exploring potential unmet transit needs in the region is an annual process undertaken by MCAG, pursuant to the Transportation Development Act, to ensure that TDA funds are expended on necessary public transport services.

There are several ways for residents to share feedback about an unmet transit need that may exist, including:

• Attend an in-person public hearing at 3 or 6 p.m. on September 29 at the Merced Civic Center.

• Attend the virtual public hearing at 6 p.m. on September 30 on Zoom, meeting ID: 899 1583 5720, password: 36918, audio/telephone: (669) 900-6833

• Complete the online survey: at https://www.mcagov.org/312/Unmet-Transit-Needs-Survey

• Email or call Natalia Austin, Associate Planner at MCAG, at [email protected]

or (209) 723-3153 ext. 127

• Mail: MCAG c/o Natalia Austin 369 W. 18th Street Merced, CA 95340

The Bus will provide a free, fixed-route bus service to people wishing to attend an in-person public hearing. For ADA-eligible community members, transportation can be arranged by reservation by calling (209) 384-3111. Spanish interpretation services will be available at each hearing. For additional language accommodations, contact Eva Garibay at (209) 723-3153 x108 or [email protected] For more information on unmet transit needs, visit: https://www.mcagov.org/311/Unmet-Transit-Needs.
